Passionate About Our Educators

The Paulding Education Foundation is passionate about supporting our educators to do the impactful work they do with our students. The Foundation has given over $90,000 in grants back to our educators in order to enrich the education of our students. In additional to departmental grants, the Foundation offers a School Grant Program for the Paulding County School District. All 33 schools are encouraged to submit a School Grant Proposal once a year. Any school within the district may submit a grant proposal.

Four grants will be awarded at the Elementary School level, one grant awarded at the Middle School level, and one grant awarded at the High School level. These are typically awarded in the winter every year and are funded by the Gimme 5 Employee Donation Program as well as the fundraising events the Foundation hosts every year.

Purpose: To support innovative projects, classroom instruction, and programs that enhances the school curriculum and/or enriches the learning experience for students.

General Guidelines: Each application will be reviewed based on a rubric and must include the following characteristics:

  • Focus on student achievement
  • Innovative
  • Appropriately aligned with School District Goals and the School Improvement Plan
  • Measurable impact and results regarding student achievement
  • Cost effective
  • The Foundation review committee will review the submitted grant applications and determine if the proposal meets the established criteria.

Schools may request grant money for technology and/or instructional resources integrated with other curriculum materials and activities to enhance the school curriculum and/or enrich the learning experience for students. Appropriate district staff will need to approve equipment requests. Equipment purchased through a school grant becomes the property of the Paulding County School District. Grant funds must be spent within 60 days of receiving the award.

The “Yes I can” awards is a program administered by our ESEP department to recognize the success of our students with special needs and it also highlights the amazing teachers who support these students. Take a look at this year’s video.

We were able to provide a grant for eight schools to be trained in peer and teacher suicide prevention program called Sources of Strength (SOS). Here are students from Dobbins Middle School wearing their SOS shirts!

How do we know are grants make a positive impact?

We’re making a positive impact, here are some thank you cards that we received from one of our schools after they received a foundation grant for musical instruments.

Students from Abney elementary learning rocketry. Foundation was so excited to help provide more rockets so the students can learn in smaller groups and achieve a higher depth of knowledge. Way to go Mrs. Rios & Abney!!!
