Paulding’s Next Star is an annual local singing contest that happens each fall brought to you by The Paulding Education Foundation & The Paulding County Fine Arts Department. All proceeds benefit the Paulding County School District. Stage one of the contest allows students and adults, ages 11 and up, to submit a 60-second video entry. Preliminary voting of the videos on social media leads up to a live performance event similar to NBC’s The Voice and Fox’s American Idol. The top contestants (by judges’ choice and social media votes), no matter the age, will move on to the Performance Round, which is the live performance in front a panel of award winning industry judges and a live audience. The judges will narrow the live performances down to the top three, then the audience will have the opportunity to help select Paulding’s Next Star! Top winners are guaranteed cash and prizes and will have the opportunity to win college scholarships.
