2012-2013 PEF Grants to Schools Announced

School Grants Grants are awarded yearly to support innovative projects, classroom instruction, and programs that enhance the school curriculum and enriches the learning experience for students.

Each application was reviewed on a rubric and must focus on student achievement, be innovative, appropriately aligned with School District Goals and the School Improvement Plan, have measurable impact and results regarding student achievement and be cost effective.


Ripple Effect for Kids Program is a positive behavior intervention system that is used to reduce discipline referrals. It includes tutorials that can be used with groups for character education, personal safety training and overall academic success.


Rigor is Not a Four-Letter Word and What Great Teachers Do Differently and the SMART Response System will be implemented to increase the rigor in classrooms and use data to continuously monitor instruction.


Foundations in Personal Finance focusing on Dave Ramsey's personal finance and financial literacy curriculum materials will be implemented as part of the College and Career Ready goals at the high school level. These materials will also be implemented into student Capstone Projects and economics courses.
